THE STORY
A LIFE
IN MUSIC.
Music has been part of my life from an early age.
I started playing at the age of five and began composing music
when I was eight. What followed was an extraordinary journey
spanning decades of international touring, studio work and
musical collaborations.
I have performed on stages around the world, including legendary
venues such as Wembley Arena and the Apollo Theater, as well as
Monsters of Rock and numerous major open-air festivals throughout
Europe, the USA, Japan and Canada.
Over the years, I have shared stages with and supported some of the
biggest names in rock music, including Rush, Whitesnake,
Def Leppard, Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Mother's Finest
and Bon Jovi.
My career has also taken me into television and film.
I have appeared in numerous TV productions, including MTV and
the German live music show Ohne Filter, and even appeared
in the movie Cold Fever. I have also featured in numerous
music videos with the McAuley Schenker Group and Eloy, as well as
a live video production with The Sweet.
My studio career has been just as extensive as my live work.
I have performed on more than 200 albums and recorded well over
1,000 jingles and commercials. Over the years, I have worked
with artists such as Chris Thompson, Eric Burdon, Hazel O'Connor,
Gotthard, Michael Schenker, Eloy, The Sweet and Jack Bruce,
among many others.
Throughout my career, I have recorded at renowned studios
including Record Plant and One On One Studios in Los Angeles,
Puk Studios in Denmark and Musicland Studios in Munich.
Today, I also record drums in my own studio, bringing decades
of international recording experience into my current productions.
One of the defining chapters of my career began in 1985,
when I toured with Austrian superstar Falco during the hugely
successful Rock Me Amadeus era. Shortly afterwards,
I was invited to London to audition for Michael Schenker.
I was drummer number 64 to audition — and just two weeks later
I found myself in the rehearsal room with Michael Schenker.
What followed was a five-year chapter with the band.
As a member of the McAuley Schenker Group, I recorded the albums
Perfect Timing in 1987 and Save Yourself in 1989,
accompanied by international touring and music videos for songs
including Love Is Not a Game, Anytime and
This Is My Heart.
In 1991, I joined Juicy Lucy and later played four tours and
recorded two albums with The Sweet. In 1993, I toured with German
rock artist Udo Lindenberg before joining the legendary German
progressive rock band Eloy in 1994. This collaboration resulted
in five albums and numerous tours.
In 2007, I once again worked with Michael Schenker before
returning to Eloy. Another major chapter began in 2019 when I
rejoined the Michael Schenker Group, performing on a US tour,
at several major festivals and contributing to further
studio recordings.
In 2021, Michael Schenker celebrated 50 years of his musical career
with a new album on which I shared drum duties with
Simon Phillips and Brian Tichy. A live DVD from Germany's
Bang Your Head Festival, where we headlined with me behind
the drums, was also released.
Today, I continue to work as a drummer, composer and producer,
combining decades of international live experience with studio
work, composition and my own musical projects.
The passion for music that started when I was a child
remains at the heart of everything I do.
